The Munich Technology Center is part of the MGH – Munich Trading and Technology Centre mbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Munich. It gives young, growth-oriented tech companies a place to develop. The offer is meant for companies in a very specific stage: The first steps have been taken, the initial course has been set and all signs point to growth. Our focus is most particularly on companies that are developing future-oriented technologies and smart city solutions.
The MTZ has been at its current location on the western edge of the Olympic Park since 2008. Its contemporary architecture continues to fascinate to this day. During construction, state-of-the-art technologies were employed to boost its energy efficiency. The building utilizes concrete core activation for energy-saving temperature control. The green roof stores moisture, insulates the building and increases the efficiency of the photovoltaic system.
The aim of the MTZ is to support tech and innovation-oriented companies and to promote startup founders. Which is why the MTZ particularly addresses companies in the seed and development stage. We help companies grow and support our tenants in looking for larger spaces when they outgrow the MTZ.
The core focus of the MTZ is on startups that are developing and implementing innovative and sustainable solutions in the future-oriented fields of resource, environmental and climate technologies. With its neighboring companies, the MTZ offers an unparalleled technology campus for startups in these fields.
